A wheeled cart is moving to the right at a constant speed. Two forces of equal magnitude are acting upon the cart. How would you describe the motion of the cart as a result of the forces?

Explanation:

such pair of forces is known as force couple.

In such cases the body only rotates on its axis as net torque is non zero and net force is 0 therefore linear acceleration of body is 0

here since cart wheels are in touch with the ground, the net torque acts in opposite direction of motion of cart due to which the reaction force from ground makes the cart to move.

OR

the torque acting does work on ground in form of friction as a result of which ground does work on wheel.

IT IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF NEWTON'S 3rd LAW OF MOTION

hope it helps t9 clear u r concept☺✌✌
