The decaying of the body of a living organism is not a property while its living. The process of decaying by the microorganisms happen only after that when the body function is stopped or dead.

EXPLANATION:

Living being is defined as any organism which breathe in and breathe out, Eat, can be able to walk (not in the cases of plants), respond to stimuli. But there is a stage in living beings that they die.

Once they die, plants and animals, dead body start to decompose by the microorganism. They tried to digest the body and after some days it is completely vanished.

The microorganism which are involved in that process are bacteria and fungi. Further, the fossil turn into the fuels due to the high temperature and pressure of the Earth surface on their body.
