c) All the appliances are connected in series

d) In picture

Explanation:

a) In a series circuit, if there is a break in the wiring or a fault in one of the appliances, the flow of electrons in the circuit is broken and the other appliances cannot function. You do not want all the lights, fans and electrical appliances to stop working because your digital clock is on the fritz!

b) This is because there is no complete circuit for electricity to make its way through as one lamp is broken.

Explanation:

(a) A parallel arrangement will be a simpler way to connect lights and other electrical appliances in house wiring, because there is low resistance to parallel arrangement. Even if there is a short circuit in one device, many electrical appliances tend to be unaffected.

(b) In a christmas tree, if one lamp gets off , the other lamps also have power supply cut off because they are connected in a series structure and hence results in all lights in the tree will stop working.

(c) The electrician wired a series circuit around the house.

(d) The circuit diagram is shown in the attachment below.
