Starfish belongs to echinoderm phylum while crabs belong to arthropod phylum.

Features of phylum echinodermata are mentioned as follows-

These animals are found mainly in marine water which includes seas, oceans.

They are triploblastic which means they form from three layers namely ectoderm, endoderm and mesoderm.

They have true coelom and organs in them.

Special characters of starfish are -

The backbone in starfish is replaced by hard plates.

Their mouth is at the bottom and at the centre and they also have large number of tubes in feet which help in movement.

Features of phylum arthropoda are as follows-

They have joined limbs or appendages.

They have characteristic segmented bodies and they also have exoskeleton made of same material as fungi. The exoskeleton in both is made of chitin.

Features of crab are -

They can breath on both the surfaces namely land and water.

They have two antennae and ten legs.
