A white metallic salt (G) on strong heating produces its oxide (H) along with two gases (I) and (J). (I) is coloured brown producing a strong acid (K) when dissolved in water. But, (J) is one of the electrolytic decomposition (write equation) products of water and a supporter of combustion. Identity (G), (H), (I), (J) and (K) and write all the possible balanced equations involved.

Explanation:

Quite a lengthy question it is.

let's sort out the easy ones first.Starting with J

We know when water is electrolysed the products are

2H20- O2+ 2H2

Here only oxygen is a supported of combustion and Hydrogen is fuel so J=Oxygen.

I appears to be nitrogen dioxide as It's a brown gas and it produces a highly corrosive acid HNO3 also termed nitric acid

And G seems to be magnesium as it reacts with air when strongly heated. The compund is Mg(NO³)²
