The amount paid by the customer for the air conditioner comes out to be equal to Rs.53,100.

Given:

The wholesaler marks the air conditioner for Rs.50,000.

The wholesaler sells the air conditioner to the shopkeeper at a discount of 10 %.

The shopkeeper sells it to a customer at the marked price.

The rate of GST is 18 %.

To Find:

The amount paid by the customer for the air conditioner.

Solution:

→ The wholesaler marks the air conditioner for Rs.50,000.

The wholesaler sells the air conditioner to the shopkeeper at a discount of 10 %.

The selling price for the Wholesaler = 50,000 - 50,000 × (10/100)

The selling price for the Wholesaler = 50,000 - 5,000

The selling price for the Wholesaler = Rs.45,000

The shopkeeper sells it to a customer at the marked price and the rate of GST is 18 %.

The amount paid by the customer = 45,000 + 45,000 × (18/100)

The amount paid by the customer = 45,000 + 8100

The amount paid by the customer = Rs.53,100

Therefore the amount paid by the customer for the air conditioner comes out to be equal to Rs.53,100.
