a) Plants are called producers because they make their food by themselves...... They are not dependent on any other organisms to make food.

b)  plants and their leaves look green because the “special pair” of chlorophyll molecules uses the red end of the visible light spectrum to power reactions inside each cell. The unused green light is reflected from the leaf and we see that light.

c)Leaves are vital to the survival of plants. There are following two main functions of the leaf:

(i) Transpiration: The extra water comes out of the leaves in the form of vapor. This process is called transpiration.

(ii) Photosynthesis: The process by which leaves prepare their food from water and carbon dioxide, in the presence of sunlight and a green-colored substance, is called photosynthesis.
