- (a) Mendeleev's periodic table is an arrangement of the elements that group similar elements together.He left blank spaces for the undiscovered elements so that certain elements can be grouped together.In future,It was later grouped on the basis of atomic mass,atomic number, chemical properties etc.

- Position of hydrogen was not justified.
- Increasing order of atomic mass could not be maintained.
