(a) Why do we paint objects made up of iron?
(b) Why is Nitrogen gas filled in food packets containing oil and fats?
(C) Which processes are responsible for (a) and (b)?
Answers
Answer:
1. we paint iron in order to prevent the iron from rusting
2 nitrogen gas is filled in food packets containing oil and fats because nitrogen is less reactive than other gases like oxygen ,so it prevents the food from staling.
3. what is the a and b you mentioned?
Hope this helps you

(a)Iron articles are painted or rather galvanised so as to prevent rusting of iron, which happens when the moisture in the air reacts with the iron thereby bringing about corrosion which damages the articles. Hence, iron objects have a coating of paint over them which prevents corrosion and makes the object last longer.
(b)Nitrogen is an inert gas and does not easily react with these substances. On the other hand, oxygen reacts with food substances and makes them rancid. Thus, bags used in packing food items are flushed with nitrogen gas to remove oxygen inside the pack. When oxygen is not present inside the pack, rancidity of oil and fat containing food items is avoided.
(c) Processes in (a) are Rusting/Corrosion and in (b) are Oxidation
