(a)Aluminium metal do not react with water under ordinary conditions because of the presence of a thin (but tough) layer of aluminium oxide on its surface. Aluminium metal does not react with water under ordinary conditions because of thin layer of aluminium oxide on its surface.

(b)Iron and aluminium will displace hydrogen from dilute acids as they more reactive then hydrogen.

(c)Mercury and copper cannot displace hydrogen from dilute acids as they are less reactive than hydrogen
