why? it is because dark colour (i.e. black) doesn't absorb the heat. whereas light coloured pots or shining one absorbs heat. As light coloured or shiny pots reflect light where as the blackened pots absorb the heat and therefore the tea or coffee stays hot in light coloured or shiny pots and not in blackened pots
