Ans-1) For once they were behaving well, as though they knew it was Christmas. The task went more easily than he had ever known it to before. Milking for once was not a chore. It was something else, a gift to his father who loved him.
Ans-2) Rob overhears his father saying how much he regrets having to wake his son so early each day.
