A wire bent in the form of a circle has a resistance of 40ohm A and B are the two points on
the wire dividing it into a quadrant shown in the figure. Find the values of i1 and i2

i1 = 0.75A

i2 = 0.25A

Step-by-step explanation:

Wire Resistance = 40 ohm

Total Length = 2πR

Length of small Portion = (1/4) 2πR

Length of Large Portion = (3/4) 2πR

Resistance of small Portion = (1/4) * 40 = 10Ω

Resistance of Large Portion = 3/4) * 40 = 30Ω

Net Resistance =  1/R  = 1/10 + 1/30  = 4/30

=> R = 30/4 = 7.5 Ω

i1 & 10  = i2 * 30  = 1 * 7.5

=> i1 = 0.75A

& i2 = 0.25A
