A wire can form a square of area 36 sq. cm. What is the area of
rectangle when the same wire forms a rectangle in which one side
is 2 cm ?​

Area of square=36cm²

=side²=36cm²

=side=√(6cm)²

=side=6cm

Since, the same wire is used to form a rectangle,

Perimeter of rectangle=perimeter of

square

=2(l+b)=4s

=2(2cm+b)=4×6cm

=4cm+2b=24cm

=2b=24cm-4cm

=2b=20cm

=b=20cm/2

=b=10cm

Then, area of rectangle:

=l×b

=2cm×10cm

=20cm²
