If the wire cuts into four equal parts then each part can sustain a weight of 15 kg.

Given-

  • Weight sustained by a wire = 15 kg

We know that breaking stress is the ratio of force per unit area. So

Breaking stress = Force / Area

Wire is divided into four equal parts which means we have reduced the size of wire but area is same so breaking stress will also remain same.

Hence each part can withstand 15 kg of weight.
