A wire has resistance of 16 ohm. It is melted down to a wire half its initial length. what's will be new resistance of the wire

So the new resistance is 75% less than old resistance. SO given wire has a resistance of 16 Ohms. If the length is halved after melting wire, it means Area of cross section would have doubled
