A wire in the shape of a square of sides 7cm is converted into a rectangle whose length is
9cm. Will the area of square be equal to the area of the rectangle? Compare both the areas.

Answer:

the perimeter of square is 4*sides

So the perimeter will be 4 * 7

THAT IS = 28

HENCE IT WILL BE EQUAL TO THE PERIMETER OF RECTANGLE

SO

28=2(L+B)

28=2(9+B)

28/2=9+BREADTH

14-9=BREADTH =5

HENCE THE BREADTH WILL BE 5

NOW WE WILL COMPARE THEIR AREAS

AREA OF SQUARE IS SIDE²

SO 7² = 49

AND THE AREA OF RECTANGLE IS L*B

SO IT WILL BE 9*5=45

HENCE THE AREA OF SQUARE IS GRATER THAN THE RECTANGLE
