a wire is bent in the form of a square whose each side is 14cm if is rebent in the form of a rectangle of 10 cm wide find the length of rectangle.​

Answer:

Perimeter = 14×4 = 56cm

2l +2b = 56

2l +20 = 56

2l = 36

l = 18cm

Let a be the side of a square, l be the length and b be the breadth of rectangle.

As length of wire is constant, perimeter of both shapes would be same,

⇒4a=2(l+b)

⇒40=2(12+b)

⇒b=18 cm

Area of square=a²

=10²

=100cm²

Area of rectangle=lb=12×18=216cm²
