A wire is bent in the form of a triangle ABC in which AB = 24 cm, BC = 16 cm and
AC = 20 cm. If the wire is bent in the form of a rectangle and the length is 10 cm
more than breadth, then the area of the rectangle is

1 240 cm^2
2) 200 m^2
3) 220 cm^2
4) 200 cm^2

Length of the wire = AB+BC+AC = 24 + 16 + 20 = 60cm.

So, Perimeter of the rectangle = 60cm.

Let the breadth be x cm.

Length = x + 10 cm.

2(Length+Breadth) = 60

or 2(x+x+10) = 60

or 2(2x+10) = 60

or 4x + 20 = 60

or 4x = 60 - 20

or 4x = 40

or x = 40/4 = 10 cm.

Breadth= x = 10 cm

Length = x + 10 = 20 cm

Area of the rectangle = Length × Breadth = 20 × 10 = 200 cm².

So, the answer is (4) 200 cm².
