Length of wire  =  Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(20+16) cm = 72 cm

Perimeter of square = Length of wire = 72 cm

Side of square = Perimeter/4 = 72/4 cm = 18 cm

Answer:

The Side of the Square is 18 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Dimensions of the rectangle = 20 cm × 16 cm

It is remoulded into a = square

To find :

The measure of the square's side

Solution :

As the shape is remoulded, the perimeter of both Rectangle and Square would be the same.

\textsf{\underline{\underline{Perimeter of the rectangle -}}}

\boxed{\sf{2(Length + Breadth)}}

\sf{\implies} \: 2(20 + 16) \\  \\ \sf{\implies} \: 2(36) \\  \\\sf{\implies} \: 72

Perimeter = 72 cm

\rule{300}{1.5}

Consider the side of the Square as y

Square's Perimeter = 72 cm

Side = y

\textsf{\underline{\underline{Perimeter of Square - }}}

\boxed{\sf{Side \times 4}}

\sf{\implies} \: y \times 4 = 72 \\  \\ \sf{\implies} \: 4y = 72 \\  \\ \sf{\implies} \: y =  \dfrac{72}{4}  \\  \\ \sf{\implies} \: y = 18

Side = 18 cm

\therefore The Side of the Square is 18 cm.
