Answer:388

Step-by-step explanation:

√(484)*4 = 88 cm

thus when the length of the rectangle is 26cm the width is 18cm

thus the area= 26*18=388 cm

To find : We have to find the area of the rectangle having length 26 cm, which is formed by bending a wire, which makes a square of 484 sq. cm area.

Solution :

Area of the square = 484 cm²

⇒ (side of the square)² = 22²

side of the square = 22 cm

  The length of the wire

= Perimeter of the square

= 4 × side of the square

= 4 × 22 cm = 88 cm

Let, b cm is the width of the rectangle with length 26 cm

Then, it's perimeter be

= 2 (26 + b) cm

⇒ 2 (26 + b) = length of the wire

⇒ 2 (26 + b) = 88

⇒ 52 + 2b = 88

⇒ 2b = 88 - 52

⇒ 2b = 36

⇒ b = 18

So, width of the rectangle = 18 cm

Therefore, the area of the rectangle

  = length × width

     = 26 × 18 cm²

        = 468 cm²
