Answer:

Length of one piece = Perimeter of the square = 4 × 2 cm = 8 cm

Let the number of pieces be n.

We have given, total area of n squares = 28 cm2

⇒ n (side)2 = 28

⇒ n (2)2 = 28

⇒ n × 4 = 28

⇒ n = 28/4 = 7

The original length of the wire = Number of pieces × length of one piece = 7 × 8 cm = 56

Question :

a wire is equally cut into 10 pieces. Each piece is used to make a square of side 3 cm . find the length of the wire .

Answer :

\sf\pink{Given:}

  • the wore is cut into 10 equal pieces .

  • side of square made from 1 piece is 3 cm.

\sf\pink{To\:find:}

  • length of the wire ?

Explanation :

  • length of 1 piece = perimeter of 1 square.

Perimeter = 4 × side

\longrightarrow\sf{ 4\times 3}

\longrightarrow\sf{12}

  • Therefore the perimeter is 12 cm and length of 1 piece is 12 cm.

Length of 10 such pieces = length of wire.

\longrightarrow\sf{12\times 10}

\longrightarrow\sf{120}

  • Therefore the length of whole wire is 120 cm .
