a wire is in a shape of rectangle it's length is 40cm breadth is 20cm if the same wire is rebent in the shape of a square what will be the measure of each side also find which shape encloses more area

perimeter of rectangle =2x(length+breadth)

=2x(40+20)

=2x60

=120cm

now the same wire is bent to form square of same perimeter =120cm

side=120/4=30cm

 

area of rectangle= length x breadth

=40x20

=800cm square

   

area of square= side x side

=30x30

= 900cm square

now the square shape encloses more area.
