Answer :

Given :

Radius of the circle = 28 cm

Length of the rectangle = 50 cm

Required to find :

  1. Width of the rectangle

Solution :

In this question we have to find the breadth of the rectangle using the above hints .

The radius of a circle is 28cm.

Using this radius let's find the perimeter .

Hence ;

Perimeter of the circle = 2 ∏ r

Therefore,

perimeterof the circle = 2 × 22/7 × 28

= 2 × 22 × 4

= 176 cm

In the question he also mentioned that;

Perimeter of the circle = perimeter of the rectangle

( This is because the wire is in the form of circle is bent into the form of rectangle )

Hence ,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 176 cm

In the question he also gave us an hint that is ;

Length of the rectangle = 50 cm

So ,

Let the breadth be " X " cm

Hence ;

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b)

2 ( length × breadth) = 176

2 ( 50 + X ) = 176

2 ( 50+ x ) = 176

100 + 2x = 176

2x = 176 - 100

2x = 76

x = 76/2

x = 38

Therefore,

Breadth of the rectangle is 38cm .
