perimeter \: of \: circle = perimeter \: of \: square \\ 2\pi \: r = 4 \times side \\ 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 42 = 4 \times x \\ 2 \times 22 \times 6 = 4x \\ x = 2 \times 22 \times 6 \div 4 \\ x = 44 \times 6 \div 4 \\ x = 11 \times 6 \\ x = 66 \\ side = 66cm \\

Question -

A wire is in the form of a circle with radius 42 cm. It is bent into a square. Find the sides of the square.

Answer -

Given:-

A wire is in form of circle of radius 42cm.

The same wire is bent into a square.

So,

circumference of the circle = perimeter of square

Circumference of circle = 2πr

\bf = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 42 \\ \\ = 44 \times 6 \\ \\ = 264cm

As circumference of circle = perimeter of square

\bf 2\pi r=4\times side\\\\264=4\times side\\\\\frac{264}{4}=side\\\\66 = side

Hence side of the square is 66 cm.
