a wire is in the shape a rectangle its length is 40 cm and breadth is 22 cm if the same wire rebent in the shape of square
what will be the measure of each side............also find which shape encloses more area

perimeter of rec = 2(l+b) = 2(40+22) = 2*62 = 124
perimeter of square =4s
now 4s = 124. s= 124/4 = 31 cm
therefore its each side will measure 31cm

and area is 31*31 = 961cm²

perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length+breadth)
= 2 (40cm + 22cm)
= 80cm + 44cm
= 124cm

now, we know that
perimeter of the square = perimeter of the rectangle

4×side = 124cm
=> side = 124/4
therefore, side of a square = 31cm

now,
area of square = side^2
=31×31
=961 cm

and area of rectangle = length × breadth
= 44 × 22
= 968 cm
therefore area of rectangle is greater than area of square
