Step-by-step explanation:
Given, wire bent to form rectangle,
Length of the rectangle = 40cm
Breadth of the rectangle = 22cm
Therefore, perimeter of the rectangle= 2(l+b)
= 2(40 cm + 22 cm)
= 2 × 62 cm = 124 cm
Then, same wire bent to form a square ,
So , perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square
Perimeter of square = 124 cm
Therefore, one side of the square = perimeter÷ 4
= 124 cm / 4 = 31 cm
So, Area of the rectangle = l × b
= 40 cm × 22 cm
=
Area of the square = side × side
= 31 cm × 31 cm
=
Hence, the square shape covers more area ( Ans)
