The wire is in the shape of a rectangle. The same wire is rebent in the shape of a square. So the area of the wire remains same.

ie, area of rectangle = area of square

We know, area of rectangle = lb

And, area of square =

Substituting,

lb = a²

32×18 = a²

a² = 576

a = √576

a = 24 cm

The side of the square will be 24 cm.
