A wire is in the shape of a rectangle. Its length is 40 cm and breadth is 22 cm. If the same
wire is bent in the shape of a square, what will be the measure of each side. Also, find

Answer:31 CM

Step-by-step explanation:The total perimeter of a rectange=2X(L+B)

L=40

B=22

Perimeter=2x(40+22)

=2x62

=124

A square has all four sides of equal length.So to get each side we must divide 124 by 4 which is equal to 31.

Area of rectangle=LXB

=40X22

=880CM.sq

Area of square=SxS

=31x31

=961

880 is lesser than 961 so the rectangle has more area

Hope it helps

A/Q

perimeter of rectangle = perimeter of square

2(l+b) = 4s

2(40+22) = 4s

2(62) = 4s

31 =  s

or each side of square is 31 cm

area of rectangle = lb = (40)(22)cm^2 = 880cm^2

area of square = s^2 = 31^2 = 961 cm^2

since square area is 81 cm^2 more than rectangle

therefore square encloses more area than rectangle.
