Answer: Each side of square = 31cm and square encloses more area .

Step-by-step explanation: length = 40 cm and breadth = 22cm

square perimeter = perimeter of rectangle

                                            square perimeter =  2(40 + 22)cm

                                             square perimeter =  124 cm

                                             square  side          = 124/4 = 31 cm

                                              rectangle area      = 40 x 22 = 880 sq.cm

                                               square area          =  31 x 31  =  961 sq.cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b) cm

= 2(40+22) cm

= 2× 62 cm

= 124 cm

Area of a rectangle = l × b cm

= 40 × 22 cm

= 880 cm²

A/Q

Perimeter of square = 4 × S cm

124 cm = 4 × S cm

124/4 cm = S

31 cm = S

Area of a square = 4 × S cm²

= 4 × 31 cm²

= 124cm²

Hence proved,

Area of rectangle encloses more area then area of square.
