Answer : 20 cm

Given,

The wire is in the shape of rectangle whose length is 12 cm and breadth is 8 cm.

To find :

Area of the square

How to find :

As given , that the same length of wire is bent so the perimeter of rectangle is equal to the perimeter of square . By this way we will able to find the side of square. And after that it will be easy to find the area of square.

Solution :

Given ,

Length = 12 cm

Breadth = 8 cm

A/Q,

\thereforePerimeter of square = Perimeter of rectangle

⟹ 4 × side = 2( l + b )

⟹ 4 × side = 2( 12 + 8 )

⟹ 4 × side = 2( 20 )

⟹ 4 × side = 40

⟹ side =  \frac {\cancel{40} \: 10}{\cancel4}

\therefore Side = 10 cm.

Area of square = (side)sq.

⟹(10)sq. = 10 × 10 = 20 cm
