If the wire is rebent into a square, it's length will be same. This means that the perimeter of rhe rectangle will be equal to the perimeter of the square.

Now perimeter of rectangle = 2*(l+b)
Putting l= 16cm and b= 9cm,

Perimeter = 2*(16+9) = 50cm

Perimeter of square = 4*side

This implies,
Perimeter of square = Perimeter of rectangle

=> 4*side = 50
=> side = 12.5 cm

Thus each side of square will be 12.5 cm
