A wire is in the shape of a square of side 8 cm if the wire is bent into a rectangle of length 9 CM then the find the breadth of the rectangle so formed

ANSWER

Side of square =8 cm

Perimeter of square =32 m

Length of rectangle =10 cm

Therefore,

2(l+b)=32

10+b=16

b=6

Therefore, breadth = 6m

Now, area of square = side×side=8×8=64 cm  

Area of rectangle = length×breadth=10×6=60 cm  

Therefore, square encloses more area.
