A wire is in the shape of a square whose side is 16 cm. The same wire is re-bent in the shape of a rectangle whose breadth is 14 cm. What will be the difference between areas of the square and the rectangle formed?

Side of square = 16 cm
Side of rectangle =14 cm
Area of square = side *side = 16cm*16 cm= 256sqcm
Perimeter of square = 4*side=4*16cm= 64 cm
Perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangle = 64cm
Perimeter of rectangle =2(l+b)
=2(l+14)=64 cm
l+14= 64/2=32
l= 32-14= 18cm
Area = l*b= 18*14= 252sqcm
Difference of area =256-252= 4sqcm
