Step-by-step explanation:

Given wire in the shape of rectangle,

perimeter of rectangle is 2l+2b.

given l=40cm and b=22cm

perimeter of rectangle= 2×40+2×22

=80+44

=124 cm

If wire reshaped then it's perimeter will not change,

perimeter of square=4a= 124

a=124/4

a=31 cm

area of rectangle= l×b=40×22=880 cm²

area of square= a²=31²= 961 cm²

difference in area= 961-880=81 cm²

Square will closes more area than rectangle by 81 cm².

Length of wire of rectangle shape = 124
Length of wire (square )=124
Length of each side=124/4=31 cm
