A wire is in the shape of rectangle. It's length is 40 cm and breadth is 22 CMfull stop the same wire is bent in the shape of a square what will be the measures of each side. Also find which shape in loses more area????

So since the shape of the wire is a rectangle, perimeter of rec. = Perimeter of square

2*(l+b)= 2*40+22

62*2=124

Perimeter of square

4a

So,

124=4a

a=124/4

a=31

Now area of square

Is a*a

31*31

961cm²

Area of rectangle

L*b

40* 22

880cm²

Hence the rectangle loses more area
