a wire is in the shape of square of side 10 centimetre if the wire is bent into a rectangle of length 12 cm find its breadth which figure in closes more area and by how much

4*10=40
40-24=16
the breadth is 8cm
the area of square is 100
area of rectangle=8*12=96
the difference in area is 4 sq.cm

SQUARE area=S*S
=10*10=100

Breadth of rectangle=A/length
=100/12
=25/3
Rectangle area=12*25/3=100

Both area of square and Rectangle are same
