Perimeter of the square = 4× side

=> 4×10

= 40 cm

As the wire is bent into rectangle having length 12 cm

Since Perimeter of square = Perimeter of rectangle

40= 2(l+b)

20= 12+b

b= 8 cm

Area of square = 10²= 100 cm²

Area of rectangle= l×b= 12×8= 96cm²

Lost in area = 100-96= 4cm²

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Side of square = 12 cm

Perimeter of square = 4*12

= 48cm^2

Length of rectangle = 14 cm

Perimeter of square = Perimeter of Rectangle

48cm = 2(l+b)

24cm = l+b

24cm = 14+b

b = 10cm

Breadth of Rectangle = 10cm

Area of square = side*side

= 12*12 = 144cm^2

Area of square = l*b

= 14*12 = 168cm^2

168>144

Therefore, rectangle encloses more area
