A wire is the shape of square of side 10cm.If the same wire is bent into a rectangle of length 12 cm.find its breadth.Also find the difference in their areas

hey...

perimeter of square (length of wire) = 4s
= 4 x 10
= 40cm

perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)
40 = 2(l+b)
40/2 = 12 + b
20 - 12 = b
b = 8cm

Area of square = S x S
= 10 x 10
= 100cm^2

Area of rectangle = l x b
= 12 x 8
= 96 cm^2

Therefore, Area of square is greater than Area of rectangle by 4cm^2
