A wire of 1 m long and weighing 2 g will be in resonance with a frequency of 300 Hz. Find tension on stretching of wire. (Ans : 720 N)

wire length =l = 1 m  

M = 2 gm = 2 × 10⁻³ kg

n = 300 Hz

n =( 1/2l)√( T/2m)

M/l=2x10⁻³/1

=2x10⁻³  kg/m

N=1/2l √(T/m)

300=1/2xl √ ( T /2x10⁻³)

600=√ (T/2x10⁻³))

600²=T/2x10⁻³

T=36x10⁴x2x10⁻³

T=720N
