A wire of certain length carries a steady current. It
is bent first to form a circular coil of one turn. The
same wire is next bent to form a circular coil of
three turns. The magnetic flux density at the cen-
tre of coil caused by the current of same strength
shall be-

ANSWER

The magnetic field at the centre of the circular loop of radius r and turns N is given by,

B=2rμ0IN

In first case, B1=2r1μ0I

  where l=2πr1

In second case, B2=2r2μ0I×2

where  l=2πr2+2πr2=4πr2

Now, B1B2=2×r2r1=2×2=4  (as r1/r2=2)

So, B2=4B1
