A wire of given material having length l and area of cross section having resistance 4 ohm what would be the resistance of the another wire of same material having length 1/2and area of cross section 2A​

Where g is resistivity and depends upon material only.

R' = g L / 4A ....... Equation ( ii )

DIVIDE BOTH EQUATIONS

R/R' = 1:4

=>

R' = 4R

So, The resistance of wire having length L/2 And area of cross section 2A is 4 times the resistance of wire having resistance R and area of cross section A
