A wire of length 100 cm is bent into a rectangle. If the length of the rectangle is $10$ cm more than its breadth, find the area of the rectangle.

Answer:

Let breadth be b, then length = b + 10

Then perimeter = 2 × (b +10 +b) = 2(2b +10)=4(b+5)

100 cm is the perimeter

4(b+5) = 100

b+5=25

b = 25 - 5 = 20

Then length = 20 + 10 = 30

Area = 30×20 =600 Ans
