A wire of length 10cm is divided into 2 parts which are bent in the form of rectangle. If its area is maximum, find dimensions of rectangle

Answer:

Let length of rectangle be 'x'

Breadth = 10-x

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l +b)

10/2 = l+b

5-l = b

Area = l * b

= l*(5-l)

5l - l^2 = 0 ( forming Eq)

5l = l^2

5 = l

B =10-x = 5

Thus length and Breadth are 5 cm each
