length of the wire=86cm
it is bent in the form of rectangle.(in the sense the perimeter of rectangle is 86cm).

perimeter of rectangle=2(length+breadth)

given,
the length is 7 cm more than breadth..
therefore,. length=(7+breadth)
hence .
perimeter of rectangle=2(length+breadth)
86cm=2[(7+b)+b]
86=2(7 + 2b)
86=14+4b. (multiply terms on right side)
86-14=4b. (taking variables to 1 side)
72=4b
b=72÷4
b=18

then we know l=7+b
therefore l=7+18
length=25

Correct QuEsTiOn :-

A wire of length 86 cm is bent in the form of a rectangle such that its length is 7 cm more than its breath. find its length and breadth formed .

Answer :-

Length = 25 cm

Breadth = 18 cm

Given :-

Total length of Wire= Perimeter Of Rectangle.

Length is 7 cm more than its breath.

Find :-

Length and breadth .

SoLuTioN :-

As we know ,

According to the Question :-

Its Length = 'x+7'

So, we consider , Its Breadth = 'x'

Perimeter Of Rectangle= Total length of Wire [Perimeter =

2 ( l +b)

putting the values :-

2(x + x +7) = 86

2x + 7 = 86/2

2x + 7 = 43

2x = 43 -7

2x = 36

So now ,

x = 18 cm = Breadth

Therefore ,

Length = x + 7

            = 18 + 7

            = 25 cm

✦ Length = 25 cm

✦ Breadth = 18 cm
