a wire of length 86 cm is bent on the from of a rectangle such that it's length is 7 cm more than its breadth..find the length and breadth of the rectangle so formed

given:-

perimeter of the rectangle=86cm

let the breadth be x

therefore the length will be=7+x

perimeter of the rectangle=86cm

2(l+b)=86cm

2(x+7+x)=86cm

2(2x+7)=86cm

4x+14=86cm

4x=86-14

4x=72

x=72/4

x=18

hence, breadth of the rectangle=x

=18cm

length=7+x

=7+18

=25cm
