Since wire is stretched twice it's length. So l' = 2l

and volume is constant hence :

V = a.l = a'.l'

So a' = a/2

So resistance = (resistivity×l/a)

So 2.2 = (resistivity×l/a)

So resistivity = 2.2a/l

So new resistance=resistivity×l'/a'

= 2.2a/l(2l/a/2) =8.8
