A wire of Length L and resistance R is stretched so that its length is doubled and the area of cross section is halved ,How will its a. resistance change ?b.resistivity change

A) Since, resistance is directly proportional to length and inversely proportional to the area of cross-section. So, the resistance will increase.
B) Resistivity depends only on the material of conductor and its temperature. Resistivity increases with temperature.
So, when we increase the length and decrease the cross-section area ; then still the material isn't changed and the temperature isn't changed. Therefore, the resistivity remains the same.
