1/R=1/R1+1/R2

1/R= 1/.5+1/.5

1/R=2/.5

1/R= 0.25ohm

Anonymous: i think its wrong..
Anonymous: R=1/4 =0.25 will be the answer ..
Anonymous: u r right only just write the last step that 1/R=4 ==> R=1/4 = 0.25
vishalrajeevvr: Is this right?
Anonymous: this is right I think 0.25 is the right answer ..

As we know ,

Resistance is inversely proportional to length ..

So when we cut the wire with resistance 1 ohm ..Then resistance of

2 Wire individual is

2R ...and 2R ..

So when we Calculate the resistance in parallel combination ..Then

 \frac{1}{equivalent \: resistance \: } \\ = \frac{1}{r1} + \frac{1}{r2} \\ = \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{2} \\ = \frac{2}{2} \\ = 1 \: ohm
So equivalent resistance of Combination when it was connected is parallel is 1 Ohm..

I HOPE it will help you

Anonymous: so sry it was my mistake ....
Anonymous: Area is inversely and length is directly
Anonymous: its ok :-)
Anonymous: so sry for my mistake =_=
Anonymous: its ok no worries :-)
Anonymous: yeah I'm really sry for my mistake
Anonymous: yep sis...But u need to explain the ans
