resistance of the elongated wire is 1.21Ω

when a wire is elongated, resistance of wire is directly proportional to square of its length.

i.e., R ∝ l²

let initial length of wire is l

wire is elongated by 10% . so, new length of wire is 1.1 l

so, R1/R2 = (l1/l2)²

⇒1 Ω/R2 = (l/1.1l)²

⇒R2 = (1.1)² × 1Ω

⇒R2 = 1.21 Ω
